Begin with setting an intention about identity - who do I want to be? What type of person? I am ____…
Then prove it with small actions to accumulate evidence that you are this person.
This enhances self-efficacy which is an individual’s capacity to execute on behaviors he or she commits to doing. It is capability to control motivation, behavior, and circumstances. As this increases it increases capacity for sustained change. This renews intention and reinforces identity which makes actions more likely which creates more evidence which further reinforces identity etc.
This is what I call a positive spiral.
